Opportunities Hartford

together to identify and then expand and enhance
the most promising educational, job
readiness/job creation/career advancement and
family-sustaining income opportunities that now
exist in Hartford. |

New Haven’s VITA/EITC
Program
In partnership with the New Life Corporation, a
New Haven-based nonprofit grassroots
organization dedicated to building the financial
security of low-to moderate income families,
Salius Communications produced a report on New
Haven’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
services and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
program. To coincide with the conclusion of the
2011 tax season, the report examines the impact
of these programs on the financial security of
families and on the local economy. New Life
Corporation manages VITA sites and the EITC
program in partnership with the Coalition for
Working Families (New Haven region non-profits,
businesses, churches, state, and municipal
departments). |
